What
People Are Saying:
"Indeed, your
visit gave the teachers rich insight into the history of
Native People. In their feedback, it was clear that
you were a valuable component of the program. There
was so much to observe, experience and do, such as examining
historical artifacts, singing songs and making the
necklaces. The experience was quite enriching for them
and we cannot thank you enough for your partnership and
support."
~ Jeanette Miller, Program
Manager, University of Delaware
"Your workshops... were an inspiration to those who
attended. Your enthusiasm was contagious: the
participants were not only enlightened but inspired as
well. I am grateful for the time and energy you put
into your programs. Thank you so much for all of your
help on Earth Day."
~ Jamie Werner, Naturalist,
Eastern PA Lutheran Camp Corp
"Most recently, PP&L offered a Native American
Weekend at Lake Wallenpaupack, including a craft workshop,
campfire program and museum display. Participants
crafted their own dreamcatchers, feather and bead necklaces
and chokers. All who participated commented on their
appreciation for these types of programs. Sandy and
Joseph took the time to talk with and explain their native
culture and traditions to the visitors. They even
provided bibliographies for some recommended books, sot that
we could learn even more. The Windwalkers have a
magical ability to warm the hearts of all who listen."
~ Meg Walker, Naturalist,
PP&L
"They transformed our library into a Native American
Museum with all of the fascinating materials they brought
with them. The children as well as the faculty
participated in songs and dances. Their stories kept
the attention of all in the room. The hands-on display of
nature's gifts were a big hit with all ages. The
Windwalkers were able to relate well to all ages of
students. They answered questions and asked questions
that made the children think. They spoke of their
heritage and lifestyle as well as the importance of
conservation in their lives. You will not be
disappointed by their programs."
~ Alice F. Reh, Principal,
Otisville Elementary School
"I have found Joseph and Sandy very eager to work with
the school and teachers to accommodate any special needs
there may be. Having observed an assembly and several
workshops, I am am impressed with their hearts and love for
all children. Our school accommodates physically
handicapped and special needs children. Joseph and
Sandy always inquire about these children because they want
to be able to include them in their program in any way
possible that the child will benefit from the
experience. During their recent visit to our school, a
handicapped child from another grade visited their
museum. They took the time to visit with him and made
him a special necklace. He was absolutely thrilled and
showed the necklace and told about his experience to anyone
who was within earshot."
