Target Audience
For audiences of any age.
K-4th grade:

For younger children, this is a creative movement
program teaching balance, spatial relationships, and inner self
discovery.
Teens also
cover creative movement principles and will be given the beginning tools
for the exploration of self expression through movement.
Especially
great for children and teens involved in theatre!

Presenter's
Approach:
Kim’s innate ability to connect with children
of all ages is especially evident in this fully
interactive class. Her warmth and enthusiasm are
contagious, inspiring even shy children to explore and
enjoy the movement of their bodies. Children are lead
through a series of exercises, sometimes imitative and
sometimes original, set to music which inspires
creativity and movement.
Older children will also begin to explore self
expression dance as Kim
challenges them to try to find the “voice” of their bodies.

Have supervised time to practice the developing skills
of balance,
motor planning, spatial relationships, etc.

Creative movement: $125
Creative movement and expression: $150
Plus travel expenses if outside of a 1 hour radius.
Logistical
Factors: Hosting organization must provide the
following:

an open, level area for movement (indoors or out)

students should wear loose clothing in which they
can move comfortably
About
the Presenter:
Kim Whipple is the Director
of The Whipple Dance Company in Tunkhannock. She is a
member of the Cecchetti Council of America, an organization dedicated to
maintaining the high standards of the Italian method of classical
ballet. Kim has danced off-Broadway and choreographed and performed for
television, video and various corporate events. She writes original
productions and combines her students with fellow professionals from New
York City to provide entertaining programs with a level of comedy and
high dance energy in the forefront.
Kim is the Program Director for the Endless
Mountains Council of the Arts, a Tunkhannock based group which supports
the performing arts. She and her husband, Ron, are the founders of the
Wyoming County Players in Tunkhannock, PA.
