Tales from Around the
World Local
storyteller, Judy Decker, shows that a story is indeed a gift as
she weaves wonderful tales from Africa, China, North America and
all over the globe. Sometimes stirring, often humorous,
and always delightful, storytelling is being rediscovered across
the country by both adults and children.

globe with Native
American folklore,
Southern Appalachian tall tales, and other stories
from around the
world, all geared toward
her audience

Give wonderful renditions of stories and "pass
them along" to audience members

Inspire the imaginations of children with audience
participation stories

Provide children with a present day example of the
ancient art of storytelling

See first hand a professional storyteller and gain
exposure to this re-emerging and vital profession

Have the opportunity to learn a little bit about
other times and places

Discover the joys of storytelling, both in learning
to tell their own stories and also in finding
interest in listening to other people's stories

storytelling is the art of sharing, and can be enjoyed mutually by
both children and adults

Plus travel expenses for locations outside of a 1.5 hour driving radius.

About
the Presenter:
Judy Decker has been sharing her stories with children and adults at
schools, coffeehouses, churches, libraries, and numerous other venues
for the past nine years.
She is an active member of the National Storytelling Association as well
as the Susquehanna Storytellers. For the past 5 years, Judy has
been invited to be a teller
at "TELLABRATION!", a worldwide event celebrating the art of
Storytelling.
Judy lives in Hallstead, PA with a head full of wonderful stories.
