Presenter's
Approach:
If you believe that time is money, then this program is an
essential tool for you. Diane Smith, a practicing attorney and
educator, details vital techniques which will enable any meeting
facilitator to get real results from meetings. What could you
accomplish if you could harvest measurable progress from each group
meeting?
Diane demonstrates a variety of meeting
facilitation techniques and discusses their application and desired
results. For instance, there are times when lively group
discussion and brainstorming of a topic is necessary to generate
ideas. At other times, such as when a specific set of points must
be covered in a limited time, a lively group discussion can derail the
entire meeting. With experience, wit and humor, Diane espouses the
importance of understanding group dynamics and gives facilitators the
tools needed to keep a group productively focused. She provokes
meeting planners to think on their feet, understand the effect that
their words have upon the group and take verbal responsibility for
keeping the meeting flowing in the most productive direction.

About
the Presenter:
Twenty five years ago, Diane Smith became certified as a teacher of
English, Speech and Drama. She has directed, taught and coached at
the high school, college and adult levels in hundreds of situations in
several states.
Sometime later, she also became credentialed as an attorney and was
heard presenting powerful arguments in the highest levels of courts in
three states. She has attended graduate classes, seminars and
workshops in psychology, linguistics and business
management. Throughout
her varied careers, whether it was to an audience of Girl Scouts or to a
young attorney who wanted a mentor, Diane, a passionate public speaker,
has shared the lessons she learned. Colleagues began to urge that
she share with a broader audience and "take her act on the
road." She sometimes wonders if they just wanted her
gone. She asks that after you experience her unique brand of wit
and humor, to please be sure to let her know which way you think they
meant it.
