Introduction to the Finer Points of Golf
PGA Pro Darryl Lock presents a delightful, on-site workshop introducing the finer points of the game
of golf. Covering golf course layouts, etiquette, safety,
basic rules, club selection, posture, grip, the swing, chipping
and putting, participants are sure to have a fun day which
leaves them well versed in the great sport of golf. This
workshop may be held indoors or outdoors, clubs and appropriate

Approach:
With humor and finesse, Darryl Lock brings participants to a the
beginning of an intimate familiarity with the game of golf. He not
only provides knowledge of the different types of courses and layouts
one may encounter, but makes students comfortable with the etiquette and
safety of the sport, thus enabling them to feel comfortable on any golf
course. Once that comfort is achieved, Darryl moves on to discuss
club selection and grip as well as the posture and technique of the
swing. Finally, participants are treated to chipping and putting
practice, and even get to try a few flexibility exercises. Golf 101 is a
delightful and productive way to spend a day!
Results:
Participants will:

Be able to demonstrate proper posture, club grip
and technique of the full swing, chip and putt

basic parts of the course

rules exist to make the game more enjoyable for all

Plus travel expenses for locations over a 1 hour drive.
Logistical
Factors:
This program may be held indoors or outdoors.
Presenter will supply clubs and "Sponge" golf balls for use
indoors.
Hosting organization must provide the following:

an open area for the golfers to practice

ample room for participant seating

an overhead projector and screen

chair and table or podium for speaker
About
the Presenter:
Darryl W. Lock is a PGA Professional who owns and manages the Kimaquan
Golf Club and School of Golf in Nicholson, PA. The school conducts
numerous adult and junior clinics each year, in addition to providing
over 400 hours of private lessons. Darryl also has extensive
experience teaching the physically challenged and is the Golf Instructor
for the Area P Special Olympics.
