The Underground
Railroad and the Civil War Era
The Role We Played on the National Stage
In an era when
people are hungry for heroes, Sherman Wooden of
the Center for Anti-Slavery Studies brings forth
stories of every day people, local families who
became unwitting heroes, locked in the struggle
which wracked this country just 150 years ago.
Their stories and other little known aspects of
the Civil War, put a human face on the facts in
the history books. Get to know the history of
your country, your area and your ancestors. Once
you start, you'll want more and more!
